here is a captivating energy and spirit at Teurlings Catholic High School in Lafayette, Louisiana. The coeducational secondary school is located in the north region of the city which has a population of 110,500. Teurlings Catholic, one of only two parochial high schools in the city, has a student enrollment of 675 in grades nine through twelve.

For over half of a century, a dedicated, close-knit community of faculty, parents, alumni, trustees, and staff has united to provide the finest college-preparatory education for our students with both a superior education and an appreciation for the values of the Catholic Christian heritage in which they were born.

REMINDERS:

  • Everyone is invited to attend our weekly Masses and prayer services every Thursday at 8:36am in the RebelDome.

  • Communion Service is held every 1st Friday in the Chapel at 7:10am.

  • Confession is held in the chapel every other Wednesday at 10am.

TCH OPEN HOUSE - Thursday, November 20th (6-8pm)

All parents and students who are considering Teurlings Catholic High School for the 2009-2010 school year are invited to join us for TCH Open House in the school gym. Parent - Teacher Conferences & First Quarter Report Cards

First quarter report cards will be issued to parents on Monday, October 13. All teachers will be on campus and available for conferences on that day on a first-come, first-seen basis. No report cards will be issued to students. Students have an early dismissal that day (12:40pm). Report cards must be picked up by a parent between 2pm and 7pm. Parents who can not attend may pick up their children's report card in the front office during normal business hours beginning on Tuesday, October 14.

 

This year, TCH is using RenWeb School Management Software. This program will allow you to access your student's progress at any time. Simply go to www.renweb.com , click on Parents Web Login on the left side of the webpage and follow the onscreen instructions. The school ID is TCHS-LA. NOTE: Your email address must match our data entry exactly. If you have changed your email address, please notify kdodson@tchs.net and the change will be made. Announcements for Friday, October 10:

 

We are on an early dismissal schedule today due to the TCH Speech Tournament.  School will be dismissed at 12:40pm.

 

Keithlyn James: Please see Mrs. Norwood in the front office today.

 

All student council members: Please meet with Mrs. Martin in room 25 sometime today.

 

Study guides for Mrs. Doherty's 1st, 6th, and 7th hour American History classes are ready for pick-up in room 26.

 

All speech and debate tab room personnel are to meet in the library at 12:00noon.

 

There will be a skeet team meeting Tuesday at 4:30pm at the Wilderness Gun Club.

 

Any senior student interested in attending LSU-Baton Rouge and pursing a degree in engineering:  If you have at least a 3.5GPA and a 24 on the ACT, please see Mrs. Proctor in the guidance office no later than today for scholarship information.

 

Any male or female student interested in participating on the soccer team: Please sign up in the athletic office. 

 

There is an important soccer meeting on Wednesday at 6:30pm in the TCH cafeteria for all male and female students interested in participating on the soccer team. This meeting is mandatory for parents as well as players. The meeting will last 1 hour.

 

We will be on an early dismissal schedule Monday due to report card pick-up and Parent/Teacher conferences.  School will be dismissed at 12:40pm.   Students:  Remind you parents that 1st quarter report cards will be available for pick-up beginning at 1:45pm and parent/teacher conferences will be held from 2:00-7:00pm. 1st quarter report cards will not be issued to students.

 

Congratulations to the jv volleyball team for their win against Breaux Bridge yesterday.

 

Good Luck to the football team as they host Beau Chene.

 

Good Luck to the freshman volleyball team as they travel to play Notre Dame.

 

Good Luck to the cross country team as they travel to Baton Rouge to participate in the Catholic High Baton Rouge meet.

 

Good Luck to the speech and debate team as they host a tournament on campus today and tomorrow.

 

Congratulations to the speech & debate team for their wins at the UL-Lafayette Tournament this past weekend.  In Debate, Jordan Attales placed 1st and Kasie Dugas-3rd. In Extemporaneous Speaking, Kasie Dugas placed 1st and Jordan Attales- 4th.  In Oratory, Kay Manuel placed 3rd.  Demi Letchworth, a freshman, at her first tournament was a semi finalist in oral interpretation.
