May 7, 2009: Speech and Debate coach Marissa Elliott is the recipient of the Donus D. Roberts Quad Ruby Coach Recognition Award for the 2008-2009 school year. The Award is presented by the National Forensic League to coaches whose speech programs have accumulated 1,000 points. Mrs. Elliott's points were accumulated both here at Teurlings and at her previous schools in Texas.

Andre Courville was top speaker; and Chris Ardoin was third place speaker. Jordan Attales, Kasie Dugas, Chris Ardoin and Andre Courville were all quarterfinalists.

Congrats to the Speech and Debate Team for getting 3rd in Sweeps at the District National Forensic League Qualifying Tournament held at Acadiana High School this past weekend. Those who placed 1st or 2nd in an event are qualified to compete at the National Forensic League Tournament in Birmingham, Alabama.
