Speech Team 2006
The Teurlings Catholic Speech and Debate team captured the 2006 State Championship in Shreveport atCaptain Shreve High School. Those placing were: David Bienvenue and Andre' Courville - 1st in Novice Cross-Examination Debate; Danielle Cottonham and Colby Melvin - 1st in Duet Acting; Danielle Cottonham and Blake Flugence - 1st in Duo Reading; Jean-Paul Abshire - 2nd in Oral Interpretation; Jennifer Dupre' - 3rd in Original Oratory; Danielle Cottonham - 3rd in Humorous Interpretation; Kathryn Barry - 3rd in Advanced Lincoln-Douglas Debate; Lori Leday and Arielle Latiolais - 3rd in Duet Acting; Allie Warren - 3rd in Declamation, and Chelsea Dore' - 3rd in Student Congress.
Speech 2007
On March 29 - 31st, 2007, at Comeaux High, the TCH Speech and Debate team won 1st place overall sweepstakes, making them the State Champions. Placing at the top of the state in their indiviual events were: Jennifer Dupré (1st in Original Oratory), Justin Cantu (1st in Student Congress), Kathryn Barry (1st in Advanced Lincoln Douglas Debate), Blake Flugence and Danielle Cottonham (1st in Duo), Danielle Cottonham (2nd in Humorous Interpretation), Michelle Scelfo (3rd in Original Oratory), Toni Menard (3rd in Advanced Lincoln Douglas Debate), Justin Cantu (3rd in Advanced Lincoln Douglas Debate), Arielle Latiolais and Jean-Paul Abshire (4th in Duo), Mary Morgan and Danielle Cottonham (4th in Duet), Danielle Cottonham won the Performance Award.
