Course Objectives and Organization In Introduction to Business, students are introduced to the world of business with the goal of preparing them for a more meaningful and beneficial interaction with businesses and our economy. This interaction is studied through the products we buy, the advertisements we see and hear, the jobs we hold, and the money we invest in the free enterprise system of the United States. The course is designed to help students make a successful transition to the workforce and/or postsecondary education and to become competent consumers, employees, and entrepreneurs. Students will enhance reading, writing, computing, communications, and reasoning skills and apply them to the business environment, incorporating a broad base of knowledge that includes the legal, managerial, marketing, financial, ethical, and international dimensions of business to make appropriate business decisions.

INTRODUCTION Computer Technology skills are vital to business and to all aspects of the workplace. This course enables students to build computer skills that are now required by a growing number of firms and occupations. Keyboarding is designed to provide students with the introductory knowledge and skills necessary to be proficient in word processing, spreadsheet, and presentations. Business Computer Applications
INTRODUCTION Business Computer Applications provides the foundation for computer technology in the workplace. This course will equip students with a "life-skills" that is vital in today’s global society, for both career and personal use. A major goal is to prepare students to learn the touch system of keyboarding, document formatting and information processing skills to be used as a means of communication in career pathways and as a "life skill" necessary to become a successful part of the business community. Students will work with Microsoft Office components (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) as well as Microsoft Outlook and other web-based applications.
