Aristotle Onassis dies on March 15, 1975.

 

Although a peace agreement allowed the U.S. to leave Vietnam in 1973 the fighting continued until April 29, 1975 when the victorious North Vietnamese communists entered Saigon, the capital of South Vietnam, marking the true end to the war.
